Bengaluru: The government has revised penalties on builders who violate approved building plans under all urban local bodies in the state, excluding Bengaluru.

Violations up to 15% on providing setbacks will attract penalties ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 per square metre for residential, industrial and commercial buildings under town panchayats, town municipal councils, city municipal councils and city corporations. 

The penalty for up to 5% violation in the approved car parking space will be Rs 5,000. Violation of up to 5% in floor area ratio (FAR) will range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 per square metre, the municipal adminisitration wing of the urban development department said in its order.
