Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that the government was putting in place measures to implement the M R Sreenivasa Murthy committee report, which has recommended overhauling the Department of Information and Public Relations.

Inaugurating the Mahatma Gandhi Media Centre at Vartha Soudha, Kumaraswamy said that the vacancies in the department would be filled up soon. He said that the Centre would be a good forum to showcase the achievements of the various departments of the government. The facility would be effectively used as an auditorium,
he added.

The Centre was built to mark 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Built at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore, the Centre is well equipped with an LED wall, LCD screens, wi-fi and live-streaming facilities.
