Police officials conducted a mahajar of the controversial Van Ingen bungalow here on Tuesday. Elephant tusks, animal skins and wooden articles were discovered at the bungalow during the exercise.
DCP (law and order) Basavaraj Malagatti and inspector of Nazarbad police station G N Mohan conducted the mahajar, during which two elephant tusks, four elephant limbs, deer horns and skins of leopard were found.
Van Ingen’s bungalow is spread over 76,708 sqft. Ingen also owns a 267 acre estate in Wayanad, Kerala. Since, Ingen was a bachelor he had appointed Michael Eshwar to look after the properties. He is however reported to have lodged a case against Eshwar, after he grew suspicious about his motives. In a case lodged in Nazarbad police station, Ingen had complained that Eshwar was trying to cheat him of his property, by claiming that he was his adopted son.
