Deputy Commissioner C Shikha has issued a notice to the University of Mysore for violation of model code of conduct in force for the taluk and zilla panchayat elections.
The varsity, on January 19, issued a notification for recruitment of assistant professors (temporary). Shikha, who is also the returning officer, confirmed to Deccan Herald that notice has been served as the code of conduct came into force on Jan 18 itself.
However, varsity registrar Prof C Basavaraju said that the recruitment process has been stopped following the issuance of notice and it would resume after the conclusion of polls.
