The owner of a family restaurant in town has approached the police following a fake news making rounds in social media, alleging that dog-meat (bow bow) biriyani is being served in his hotel.
According to the Additional SP Kumarachandra, the news is far from the truth. However the restaurant owner has approached the police as the post has damaged the image of the restaurant.
According to the complainant, the photo in the social media post is of a hotel in Khammam district in Hyderabad and not his restaurant. The photo of the restaurant with a similar name carries the name of Udupi and is being circulated on social media.
Salauddhin, the restaurant partner, has appealed to customers not to trust the post. A case is being registered with Cyber Crime Police.
