Chikkanayakanahalli (Tumakuru district): With the leadership tussle in the ruling Congress refusing to die down, veteran Congress legislator and former minister K N Rajanna on Wednesday called for dissolution of Assembly and face the election under the leadership of D K Shivakumar.
"The only way to end the deadlock (over change of CM) is to dissolve the Assembly and face the elections under the leadership of Shivakumar. If the Congress secures majority, let him (DKS) become the CM for a full five-year term," Rajanna told reporters here.
The Madhugiri MLA, however, added that Siddaramaiah should be continued as CM or G Parameshwara be made the CM.
"The party MLAs elected Siddaramaiah as leader in the Congress Legislature Party meeting. If there is any change in CM, let the CLP decide... Nobody has asked for Siddaramaiah's resignation. A few people keep crowing about a 30-30 (months) power-sharing deal between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar," he said.
