Praveen Nettaru murder case: Man kisses accused Bellare in court

Despite two police constables escorting him, the youth managed to hold the head of the prime accused in the 2022 murder of BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru with both hands and kiss him on the forehead.

Mangaluru: Safi Bellare, an accused in the murder of Bellare Praveen Nettaru was produced in a court in Beltangady on Monday.

Safi who was lodged at the jail in Parappa Agrahara in Bengaluru was produced in Beltangady court based on a body warrant issued by the court.

Safi was arrested in connection with Praveen Nettaru murder case by NIA in 2023. Safi for past two years had failed to secure bail. Safi was produced in the court in connection with an inflammatory speech made against RSS and RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in 2017.

After presenting Safi in court he was escorted under tight police security to Parappa Agrahara.

While Safi was being produced in the court a youth broke through the security cordon to kiss the forehead of Safi. The youth who planted a kiss was identified as Sahal Nirsal from Ujire.

As the video of Sahal kissing the forehead of Safi went viral in social media, Police launched a search for Sahal, sources added.
