Supporters took dip at the confluence of rivers Ganga, Jamuna Saraswati during the early hours of Sunday during the Maha Kumbh being held after 144 years and offered prayers to make the Karnataka Congress leader the next Chief Minister.

Holding picture of Jarkiholi, they raised slogans “Satish Jarkiholi next Chief Minister” umpteen times at the pilgrimage venue.

Videos of Jarkiholi supporters in traditional attires raising slogans at the Maha Kumbh venue has gone viral on social media.

Arun and Shivakumar from Ghodageri and Sameer Rangasubhe from Gokak were among those who offered prayers at Maha Kumbh to make Jarkiholi the Chief Minister.

This comes at a time when there has been a tussle inside the Congress over the pick for the next Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Jarkiholi, for his part, has made his intentions known that he wants to be Chief Minister after the 2028 Assembly elections in Karnataka. However, public statements over the post of Chief Minister by those aspiring to become so have stopped since a diktat by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.
