The government plans to provide prefabricated houses in flood-hit Kodagu to help people who lost their homes. Home Minister G Parameshwara announced the initiative after flagging off four trucks of relief materials collected by BBMP to Kodagu.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Parameshwara said, “once the rain stops, we will start building prefabricated houses for the victims. I have discussed the initiative with the chief minister. These houses can be built in a single day.”

“The BBMP and police officials will give their one day's salary to the relief fund,” Parameshwara said.
