Chairing a KDP meet at the Taluk Panchayat Hall here, he said that while Rs 24.50 lakh was sanctioned for the construction of compost manufacture units, nearly Rs 13 lakh has already been released. As there are suspicions of misappropriations in the fund, a high level enquiry should be conducted to find whether compost manufacture units were constructed or not, he added.

It was brought to the notice of the president that the Public Works Department (PWD) Assistant Engineer Ramakrishna was absent in the meeting. However, he attended the meet in the afternoon session. Executive Officer G N Nagaraj said that none of the officials have rights to refrain from the meeting without any reason. Officials should attend the meeting and give details regarding development, he clarified.

Social Welfare Department officials were asked to distribute certificates to physically challenged children in Sajjalli Triabal Colony in Aigur gram panchayat. Lokesh directed officials to submit the list to the panchayat soon. Further, the president also directed officials to make necessary arrangements to provide water, electricity and road to the Sajjalli Colony.

Lokesh warned officials of the Horticulture Department to distribute the benefits of various governement schemes to beneficiaries without the interference of middlemen. Officials will have to face music, if scheme benefits were not distributed properly, he added.

BEO B K Shivanna said that about 92 schools in the taluk do not have records for its property. Taluk Health Officer Anitha Jnanamani said that the mobile clinic service of the department will be made available to 12 villages in the taluk.
