Releasing a students magazine ‘Siddharta Sampada’ at the Siddharta Centre for Media Studies in Tumkur on Wednesday, he said although journalism demands true concern for society, it has lost its significance in this ‘breaking news’ trend.

The competition among media houses has changed the way the news is interpreted and presented today. The concept of breaking news has underwent a sea change, he lamented. Lauding the efforts of centre’s students in brining out the magazine, DC called upon the students to take the magazine’s presence beyond college.

District Working Journalists Association honourary president T G Adaveeshappa explained the significance of Fourth Estate in bringing a change in the government. Siddharta Education Instiution administrative officer C N Narasimha Murthy, lecturer Muddesh and Prakash were present.
