Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P has clamped prohibitory order in the district till May 5 as tensions simmered in Mangaluru over the murder of rowdy-sheeter Suhas Shetty in Bajpe police station limits on the night of May 1.
ADGP law and order Hithendra R has arrived in Mangaluru to take a stock of law and order situation.
Prohibitory order under section 163 of BNSS were also issued from 6 am of May 2 till 6 am of May 6 in Mangaluru commissionerate limits.
Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said that during the period gathering of more than five people is prohibited.
Further, shouting slogans against government institutions, carrying weapons or explosives, provocative speeches, use of foul language, and holding protests is also banned.
The prohibitory order is not applicable to any programmes organised by the government.
Adding to this, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also called for a district-wide bandh on Friday.
