Project on diverting Netravati water to Pavagad mootedConstruction works at the Government Junior College launched

He was speaking after launching construction works on the Government Junior College premises in Kotagudda, Pavagad taluk on Monday. The work on college building was estimated to cost Rs 50 lakh. Besides, he also inaugurated hall at Town Municipal Council in Pavagad.

He said, the problems in the taluk will be addressed on a priority basis. A sum of Rs 10 crore has been granted for the agriculture research centre and land for the same has been acquired from the Horticulture Department, he said.

Besides, he said, the Union government has been impressed upon to sanction a Rs 21-crore underground drainage project and construction of 508 houses. The minister said, a meeting with the officials will be held on drainage system. He said, though it has become inevitable to depend on Uttarapinakini River for drinking water, it has been processed and made fluoride free. He also promised to get a hostel sanctioned for the college if land is provided.
 ZP president M Nagendrappa, Principal Raviraju, K R Suresh, Pavagad TMC President Veena Anjankumar, Vice-President Nanjundaswamy, CEO Srinivas, G S Dharmapal and Manamvenkataswamy were present on the occasion.
