In a memorandum submitted to the Governor, he said in spite of members of the Bellary Congress staging the hunger strike, the Government has turned a blind eye.

The Governor, therefore, should intervene and direct the Government to protect the State’s territory, he added. The hunger strike entered the fourth day on Friday.

The Bellary Congress is demanding that the CM should ensure that the joint survey of the State boundary is done at the earliest, and get back nearly 40 kms of State’s encroached territory.

Ministers from Bellary in the State cabinet have been allegedly conducting illegal mining in the disputed area, the protesting members alleged.
