The protest by KPSC candidates against the cancellation of the list of gazetted probationers for 2011 continued on Monday but was marked by the conspicuous absence of politicians.

While JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has supported the candidates, none from his party was present at the venue — the Freedom Park.

Two more candidates have been admitted to hospital as their health deteriorated. Dr Vimla Patil, Medical Superintendent of KC General Hospital, confirmed to Deccan Herald that one of the protesters, Veeranna, was admitted and would be discharged on Monday night.

According to protestors at the venue, another candidate was hospitalised the same day.
Meanwhile, the police installed CCTV cameras at the venue “to prevent untoward incidents”.
On Monday, two CCTV cameras were installed at the venue and another was perched on a nearby building from where the police monitored the situation.

Labhu Ram, DCP (West), said that police personnel had been deployed on the venue for the last three days “as part of elaborate bandobast”.
