Belagavi: MP Jagadish Shettar on Friday said that proxy war has been going on between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

He also said that there must have been power sharing agreement which was violated and differences will lead to collapse of Congress government in the state.

Shettar told reporters here on Friday that both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar were not speaking up, but their confidants were raking up the issue of the incumbent chief minister continuing in the post and others stating that there would be replacement. "It's proxy war due to violation of understandings and it will explode soon," he added.

He said, MLAs supporting Shivakumar want him to be the chief minister. It is left for Shivakumar to make it clear if he wants to become Ekanath Shinde of Shiva Sena or Ajit Pawar of NCP. Shivakumar has now also begun to attend programmes of Hindu organisations, he further said.
