PU results: Government colleges prove their meritKodagu district stands third in state

Kodagu district Government Colleges proved their capabilities. This is evident by the PU result in the district.

The Government Colleges have scored 82.85 per cent while private colleges have scored 87 per cent.  

This time the government, aided and private colleges of the district have scored well and the district has got third place in the State after Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, which is better than last year (last year Kodagu was in 4th place).

This time the government colleges of the district have got better percentages compared to previous year.

Out of 1,282 students from 15 government colleges of the district, 992 students have passed achieve 82.85 percentages. Among 22 private colleges of Kodagu, 1899 students have passed out 2,111 students who appeared for the examination. The difference between government and private colleges is negligible, ie 4.15 per cent.

Kodagu district has 50 colleges, of which government colleges are 15, Residential schools (Morarji- 1 and Ekalavya- 1), aided- 11 and 22 private colleges

. Among the two residential colleges, Morarji Desai Residential College has got better result with 85.71 percent while Balagodu Ekalavya Pre- University College has got only 25 per cent. Among 36 students of these schools 26 have got pass marks.

100 per cent

Including one Government College four colleges of the district have achieved 100 per cent result. All 22 students of Iguru Government Pre- University College have passed. Except this, private colleges of the district- Gonikoppal Coorg Pre- University College, Virajpet St Annamma Pre- University College and Vigneshwara Pre- university College of Shanivarasanthe have achieved 100 per cent result.

Arts: Government college student stands first K B Shobha of Nellihudikeri Government Pre- University College has got first place in the arts stream by scoring 532 marks out of 600. Balakrishna Nayak K C (526) of Sampaje Pre- university College, Jasmina K M (526) of Kodlipet Pre- University College shared the second place. Pavita K J (521) of Shanivarasanthe Vigneshwara Pre- University College is in third place.

In science stream, Akshaya Rao (582), Pavan M B (578) and Bopanna N D (577) are in first three places respectively and all are from Gonikoppa Vidyaniketana Pre- University College.

 In commerce stream Linita K K of St Michel School of Madikeri has score 575 to stand first in the district. Second place is shared by C Pooja Charmana of Srimangala Pre- University and Sonali R P of Madikeri St Joseph’s Pre- university College with 574 marks. Chaitra P of Madikeri St Joseph’s Pre- University College and Suramya B A of St Michel’s Pre- University College have shared the third place with 573 marks out of 600.
