Driving vehilces on the road has become a herculean task as it has full of potholes. Even though the road was remaining in bad shape for the past several years, authorities concerned did not take initiative to repair it.
The bad condition of the road also had led to several accidents. Most of the accidents occur when the drivers try to avoid potholes on the road. There were instances where women and children sustaining injuries in accidents on the road.
The PWD authorities had filled all potholes on the road stretch between Madikeri and Koodlipete. However, the Mahatma Gandhi road in the town has been neglected by the authorities.
MLA’s direction
People brought the matter to the notice of MLA Appachuranjan. On hearing the people’s complaint, Appachuranjan directed PWD assistant engineer Ramakrishna and engineer Ramachandrappa to take up the repair works immediately.
