Python devours goat

A large python was spotted on Friday afternoon in Patharamogalu forest region near Budikote on the taluk.

The 15-foot python which was lying still after devouring a goat, caused panic among the people. Patharamogalu forest region, with an area of 300 acres, is located 6 km from Budikote and is in the border of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

On Thursday as usual cattle, sheep and goat go into the forest for grazing and the devouring of the goat took place during grazing. On Friday a farmer found one of his goat missing which led to the discovery of the python.

People from the surrounding areas came to see the python. The  Malur range forest officials rushed to the spot and ensured that no harm was done to the python.
