R Ashoka to write to PM to declare Karnataka floods a calamity

A letter will be written to Union government urging it to declare flood hit areas of Kalyana Karnataka and other parts of Karnataka a national calamity, said Revenue Minister R Ashoka.

Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi after visiting rain-hit areas of the district on Friday, he said that unprecedented rainfall has caused extensive damage to the crops and infrastructure in the district.
