Raghunath Rao Malkapure appointed as the chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council

Malkapure, who hails from Bidar district, is a two-time MLC

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Tuesday appointed two-time BJP MLC Raghunath Rao Malkapure as interim chairperson of the Karnataka Legislative Council.

Malkapure will officiate until a new chairperson is elected.

Malkapure replaces JD(S) leader Basavaraj Horatti, who resigned on Monday.

Horatti is all set to join the BJP soon.
