Sri Krishnarajamudi Brahmotsava, that was started by Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, will be celebrated from July 28 to August 7.

The deity of Chaluvanarayanaswami would be decorated with the diamond and gem-studded crown donated by Krishnaraja Wadiyar on August 1 and taken out in a procession. The festival is held in the month of Ashada every year. Various rituals will be held as part of the festival.

People have appealed to Minor Irrigation Minister C S Puttaraju to take measures to celebrate the festival in a grand manner as this is the only festival that is being celebrated in the name of a king. The government has not been releasing any funds for the festival and the lands donated by the then kings have been encroached upon. As there is no proper publicity, the number of devotees are also less, they claim.
