Madhugiri (Tumakuru district): Senior Congress leader K N Rajanna, who was sacked from the Siddaramaiah’s Cabinet following the direction by the party high command, said on Friday that he was a victim of a systematic conspiracy by three leaders. He however refused to reveal names of three leaders.
“Three leaders systematically conspired in Delhi against me. Even I know how to finish someone off politically. But I will not get to that level now. Time will come...,” Rajanna told reporters here.
“I will visit Delhi after the Assembly session is over and will meet leaders, including Rahul Gandhi. I will argue my case and try to know the exact reason behind the decision to remove me from the Cabinet. I am sure I will convince the high command and get the ministerial berth back,” he added.
“I don’t lie to further my interests. Yes. I have lied on several occasions for the good of others. I have made statements in open on certain issues like appointing additional deputy chief ministers and change of guard at KPCC. What’s wrong with it? I have spoken plain truth. I have not spoken ill about someone. The party diktat not to speak to media and the current situation makes the truth bitter,” he said.
Rajanna’s comment on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vote theft allegations is believed to have proved costly for the leader. He had questioned his party leaders as to why they didn’t prevent irregularities reported while preparing electoral roll when the party is in power. The Madhugiri MLA, however, said that India alliance had lost more than 20 seats during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls due to ‘vote theft’.
