The Mangaluru South police have booked a case under Karnataka Open Place Disfigurement Act against organisers of Rajatha Sambhrama, organised to commemorate the silver jubilee of M N Rajendra Kumar as president of SCDCC.

DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya said the complaint was filed by Mangaluru City Corporation. The complaint said that the programme was organised at Nehru Maidan including football ground on January 19. On account of the programme, illegal cutouts on the programmes were mounted on most of the road junctions, road dividers and in public places in Mangaluru. The cutouts had disrupted the movement of vehicles as well as pedestrians, said the complaint.

A case has been registered under IPC 188, 283, 290 and Column 3 of Karnataka Open Place Disfigurement Act, said the DCP.
