Condemning the controversial 'POT' tweet of Congress social media chief Ramya against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP workers staged a protest near Sir M Visvesvaraya statue, in the city, on Monday.

The protesters said, Modi had mentioned about giving priority to 'TOP' (tomato, onion and potato) for financial empowerment of farmers. "This shows his concern towards the farmers. But, Ramya twisted his words saying 'if he was on POT'. This mirrors her priorities," they said.

The protesters said, Ramya is yet to grow to speak about the Prime Minister. "Everytime she tweets against the Prime Minister, she displays her immaturity. She makes such tweets and comments for publicity sake," they said.

They warned Ramya not to speak against the Prime Minister again. "She should seek apologies for her 'POT' tweet. The Congress leaders should tell her to behave sensibly, or an intensified protest would be staged," they warned.

Similar protests were held in Chamarajanagar also.
