Mangaluru: KPCC General Secretary Padmaraj R said that all, irrespective of political parties, should work towards the progress of Dakshina Kannada rather than engaging in divisive politics.
“Incidents like murder and mob lynching affect the image of the district and private players do not take interest in investing in the district, which in turn will affect overall progress of the district. Dakshina Kannada has all the potential to attract investments,” he told media people.
“Any kind of murder needs to be condemned and it can not be justified and all the accused should be arrested. The incident of mob lynching has made all of us hang our head in shame. The retaliation to the murder of Suhas Shetty in the form of stabbing and assault is a black mark on the district. All those responsible for the act must be punished accordingly. However, we must not forget that who had opened a rowdy sheet against Suhas and during whose tenure,” he said.
Padmaraj questioned whether those who are now labelling him a Hindu activist took any effort to reform him after he got involved in anti-social activities.
“Hinduism does not preach hate towards other religions. Instead, it propagates respect towards all religions and uplift the weak in our community. Hatred has no place in any religion. All anti-social elements should be considered terrorists. No one should commit acts that spread hatred on the basis of religion,” he emphasised.
Padmaraj said that those who post false and harmful messages on social media should think about preserving the honour of their parents. He said that when provocative and offensive messages are posted and legal cases are filed, it is often the parents who suffer the consequences, and people must not forget it.
