New Delhi: Senior Congress leader B K Hariprasad on Tuesday said that by removing senior leader K N Rajanna from the Cabinet, the party has sent a strong message to all ministers and MLAs that they should follow the party's discipline.
“Rajanna is a senior leader and always has a habit of talking openly on many issues. However, he should have followed the party discipline while talking publicly on some issues,” Hariprasad told reporters here.
The party knows the strength of Rajanna. When he made open statements on some issues, the party intervened. The party high command will decide his future in the party, he said.
To a question on Rajanna’s allegation of big conspiracy hatched for his removal, Hariprasad said that in politics conspiracy was common. The politicians have to face it, he said.
Dismissing the BJP’s allegation that the party has done injustice to Nayaka community leader, the senior Congress leader said that the discipline is applicable to all members of the party. There is no discrimination when it comes to taking action against anybody within the party, he said.
