The team has reached the depth of 53 feet and the drilling work to dig a horizontal tunnel to reach the point where the child got stuck is underway. According to sources, another nine feet of the tunnel had to be drilled to reach the depth where the child is believed to be stuck. The rescue team might reach the child by Sunday morning.
The child, Kanchan, had fallen in the well on August 31. It is six days since the rescue works began.
