Karnataka State University and Degree Colleges Retired Teachers Association, Mysore zone has welcomed the recent order of the State Government revising the pension of retired professors of colleges and universities, said a joint press release from the president of the association Prabhuswamy, general secretary K P Vasudevan, organisational secretary H G Krishnappa and treasurer K A Nagendra Rao.
However, those among the fraternity who retired before January 1, 2006 have not been benefitted and their demands for timely revision in their pension, clearing of salary arrears and also pension arrears haven’t been met.
The main demand is for pension according to UGC recommendations or equivalent pension. A meeting has been convened on January 16 at 4 pm at Vishwamanava School at Ramakrishna Nagar to discuss about the pending demands, the release added.
