Mangaluru: Following the sad demise of former prime minister Manmohan Singh and with the Karnataka government declaring seven-day mourning, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has postponed the beach festival at Tannirbavi beach which was supposed to be held on December 28 and 29.

The beach festival was being organised as a part of the month-long Karavali Utsava. The next date for the beach festival will be announced shortly, said the district administration.

As a part of the beach festival, a live concert by Manikanth Kadri and a concert by Raghu Dixit was to be organised on December 28 and 29. In addition, the district administration had arranged food stalls and adventure water sports. With the state mourning declared, the programmes have been postponed.
