Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya has extended the ban on illegal river rafting at various places including Dubare, in River Cauvery, across Kodagu, till April 28.

Initially, the deputy commissioner had banned illegal river rafting till February 28.

A team led by Nada Kacheri revenue inspector K J Madhusoodan has pasted the order of the deputy commissioner at rafting places at Dubare, Nanjarayapattana, Theppadakandi, Toogusethuve, Basavanahalli, Rangasamudra and Rasalpura.

Deserted

Without tourists, however, Dubare wears a deserted look. All the business establishments have remained closed.

The Gram Panchayat has also suspended the temporary permission given to the merchants to carry out business on the banks of the river.
