The bypass road which is more than 10 km long is constructed at a height of 8 to 10 feet which separates the either side of the land mass. The height of the road makes it difficult for humans and livestock to cross the Road. Further tractors, bullock cart and other modes of transport have to circumambulate 10 km to reach other side of their field due to the height of the road. Thus, the bypass road which runs across the field obstructs people’s movement, members alleged.

The bypass road doesn’t have facility to drain the rainwater. Though, pipes have been laid to drain the water, it is to small, alleged members who said that it would result in flooding of neighbouring fields during rainy season. This in turn would destroy the crops, they added. The engineers should have constructed box type pipes to drain rainwater on the highway, they added.

The government had taken over farmers land for the construction of bypass road. Though the bypass road is nearing the completion, the government till today has not bothered to give the compensation amount to the farmers, they alleged. We will not let government to inaugurate the road with out paying the compensation, members said.

The protesters withdrew their protest after Tahsildar Nagaraj intervened and promised to fulfill their demands.
