Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Wednesday provided a compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of three employees who died due to an accident and electrocution.
This was provided under the ‘Saarige Suraksha Accident Insurance Scheme’ under which an accident insurance compensation of Rs 1 crore is provided in the event of an employee’s death due to an accident, whether on duty or off duty. All three employees lost their lives due to off-duty accidents.
Additionally, the corporation also provided a compensation of Rs 3.10 crore to the dependents of 33 employees who died due to causes other than accidents, such as heart attack, cancer, stroke and other medical reasons.
The dependents of 31 employees received Rs 10 lakh each, and two families received Rs 14 lakh each.
Soft launch of e-Vaneejya
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy launched a Commercial Management Software for the KSRTC on Wednesday.
Called ‘e-Vaneejya’, the software will help digitise the currently manual process of generating licence fee, GST amount, late payment penalties and other charges across 1,847 commercial establishments under the corporation.
The corporation’s Vice Chairman Mohammed Rizwan Nawab and Managing Director Akram Pasha were also present at the event.
