PWD Minister H D Revanna said in Chikkamagaluru that a proposal of Rs 250 crore to concrete Charmadi Ghat road will be submitted shortly.
The work will be taken up after the monsoon.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that he has recently inspected Charmadi, Shiradi, Agumbe and Mani-Sampaje roads.
“Measures have already been taken to fill the potholes on Charmadi Ghat stretch. I have directed the officials to remove the silt from the drains,” he said.
The minister said that Shiradi Ghat will be thrown open for vehicular movement in another 10 days. Once the Shiradi Ghat is open, then the pressure on all other roads will be reduced.
He said, “Belur-Bilikere road comes under National Highway jurisdiction. A tender has been called for Edegowdanahalli-Hassan road development. I have appealed to the union minister to take up the work on Belekere-Edegowdanahalli and Hassan-Belur stretch.”
The minister said that measures will be taken to repair Hebbole bridge on Kalasa-Horanadu stretch. All the roads to Horanadu, Sringeri and Kalasa will be developed. The proposal on Shishila-Bhairapura road has come to my notice which will be verified, he added.
Railway line
The minister said that the proposal on Chikkamagaluru-Belur railway line will be submitted to the union minister for railways shortly.
The ministry has already approved the Belur-Hassan railway line. The distance between Chikkamagaluru and Belur is just 30-km and the work will be taken up on cost-sharing by the Central and State governments.
Loan waiver
The minister reiterated that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will announce loan waiver in the budget. “Let us wait and watch on what modalities will be followed for the loan waiver,” he added.
Chief Minister Kumaraswamy will present the budget. The JD(S) and Congress
coalition government is strong in the state. There is no confusion among the partners, he said.
To a query on B S Yeddyurappa, he reacted saying, “I do not wish to react to BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa openly inviting JD(S) and Congress MLAs to join the BJP”.
