Bengaluru: As part of its centenary celebrations, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is holding public outreach programmes across the country, with one scheduled in Bengaluru on November 8 and 9 at PES Engineering College, Banashankari.
During the two-day event, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will interact with representatives from sectors including education, health, social service, entertainment, sports, industry, finance, arts and culture, and heads of institutions.
Coordinators have begun contacting invitees, and some have already confirmed, sources said.
Invitees are not confined to those with ideological links to the Sangh, a source added.
“The event marks 100 years of the organisation and the chief will engage with select representatives from different sections of society,” the source said.
The Bengaluru programme was initially planned for three days but was reduced to two.
The sessions will be held from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm on November 8 and from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm on November 9.
RSS has set a target of at least 1,500 such conferences across India.
Similar events will take place in Kolkata and Mumbai in November, while 18 world capitals will also host programmes.
Documentaries and publications have been prepared in foreign languages, including French and German.
The centenary celebrations will be launched on October 2, Vijayadashami day.
From this Vijayadashami to the next, RSS will observe Shatabdi Varsha, focusing on five themes: environment, social harmony, family awareness, civic responsibility and self-reliant systems.
