Shivamogga: Welcoming RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that those who turn 75 must step down from power, Sagar MLA Belur Gopalakrishna of the Congress said on Saturday that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped down accordingly, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was the right choice to be PM.
Gadkari was more concerned about the common people of the country, he said.
Speaking to reporters, he said, “BJP’s sinners made B S Yediyurappa resign as chief minister with tears in his eyes after he turned 75. They should now act as per the wishes of the RSS chief with regard to the post of prime minister”. He said the number of poor people in the country was increasing.
“The rich are getting richer. Gadkari had recently said that the country’s wealth is going to a few people. Considering this, he is eligible for the post of PM. The BJP high command should think about it,” he suggested.
