Addressing a meeting here, he said said this is for first time that commission was holding its sitting in district headquarters.

Dr Krishna also inquired applications pertaining to Departments of Urban Development, Revenue, Social Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, Karnataka State Open University, government and semi-government departments.

He noted that officers attend inquiry using government facilities, but the complainants have to spend money from their pockets to visit Bangalore.

In view of this, the commissioner has been holding inquiry in all district headquarters and trying to provide information to the applicants from departments in their hometown.

Preference is being given to applications filed by aggrieved citizens about inordinate delay in furnishing information sought by them. Officials from various departments and applications were present.
