Bengaluru: The 72nd pontiff of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math, Mandya, Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family of SM Krishna.
Heaping praise on Krishna's legacy, Swamiji called him an efficient and honest people's leader who stood by his values and delivered in every role he took up.
"As a leader with foresight, his contribution to Karnataka's development is unforgettable. Bengaluru attained global recognition as the Silicon Valley due to the solid foundation for IT-BT sectors that he created," he wrote.
Swamiji also noted that Krishna held great reverence for late Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharnatha Mahaswamiji, the previous pontiff, and encouraged all the public service programmes the Math took up, actively participating and providing his inputs wherever he deemed necessary.
"He might have left his physical body but he has carved a righteous, ideal path forward in society. Let the youth follow that path," he wrote.
