Mangaluru: A scooter rider allegedly smashed the windshield of a KSRTC bus with a helmet on Sunday evening at Alape on the outskirts of Mangaluru and fled the spot.
The Kankanady Town Police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident.

Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal said that the incident took place around 7:30 pm, when a KSRTC bus was travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru.
The bus driver, Arun, questioned the rider who came in front of the bus. Enraged by it, the scooter rider blocked the bus and smashed the front glass with a helmet before fleeing the spot.
The Kankanady police rushed to the spot and arranged alternate transportation for the passengers after questioning the bus driver.
Based on a complaint filed by the bus driver Arun, a case has been registered for obstructing the government employee from performing his duty and for causing damage to public property.
The identity of the accused has been ascertained. Efforts will be made to trace him. Investigation is in progress.
