Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) National President M K Faizey said that the SDPI is holding discussions with Congress, CPM and other secular parties to forge an alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha election and a final decision has not been taken in this regard.

He told reporters here, “We don’t have any agenda on not to have a truck with Congress and the CPM. When the elections near, we will make a few adjustments in our principles.”

“The SDPI will not enter into an alliance keeping in mind tickets to contest the election. Our main aim is to defeat the fascist power of BJP. The BJP has been working against the aspirations of the Constitution. All the political parties have to unite to defeat BJP in the election,” he said.

Coming down heavily on NDA rule at the Centre, he said that the government has failed to fulfil the promises in the last four-and-a-half years.

He said neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman open their mouth on dropping HAL from Rafale deal. The BJP is not ready to discuss on Rafale deal, he charged.

Faizey alleged that the triple talaq ordinance is a communal agenda of the BJP and is not aimed at supporting the Muslum community. If the Centre has concern for Muslim women, then they should give priority to education and employment, he said.
