Addressing media persons, he said there are more than 40 lakh members of Kumbara community in Karnataka but they are neglected politically for they are scattered.
In view of uniting the community members and raising their demands, a federation of potters is being formed. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the federation at Bangalore Town Hall on December 27, Kulal informed.
The demands of the community include establishing of a separate corporation for potters, financial support to the potters to continue their family occupation and loans at 4 per cent interest.
