Belagavi: The leaders across all parties demanded the state government to set-aside separate funds in the budget for Kittur Karnataka  - in line with Kalyana Karnataka.

During a discussion in the Legislative Council on Friday during Zero Hour, senior Congress member Prakash Hukkeri raised the issue and urged the government declare Chikkodi as separate district.

Rs 3,500 cr sought

“Government must declare Chikkodi as separate district and provide Rs 3,500 crore in the budget for the development of Kittur Karnataka,” he said. 

He demanded to upgrade 100-bed hospital in Chikkodi to 250 beds. Other members including BJP’s K S Sunil, P H Poojar and JD(S) K A Thippeswamy joined him in the debate.
