Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Bill 2011, the ambitious project of the State government to provide services to the citizens without any delay, will be implemented in Puttur on a pilot basis from March 1.
Chairing a meeting of the officials, Officer for implementation of Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Bill-2011 Ponnuraj said that the officials were given training in the Bill.
Another round of training will be held in district training centre on Tuesday. The implementation of the Bill will not be affected in those departments, which has already been computerised. The information boards should be put up in all the offices, on the features of the Bill.
Ponnuraj also collected information on the number of applications which the officials receive daily. Under the Bill, the citizens are entitled to seek compensatory cost in case of delay or default in delivery of services beyond the stipulated time.
Every designated officer or his subordinate officer who fails to deliver citizen related services within a stipulated time shall be liable to pay fine. Hence, the officials should be cautious, he said and added that as per the Bill, the services should be discharged within a stipulated time.
Health department, transport, revenue, food and civil supplies, police, education, labour, women and child welfare officials were present. Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash, Additional DC Dayanand, MCC Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar and others were present.
Training todayAll the department front office staff, computer operators will be given training on February 28 in Mangalore.
