Showing an increase of 30 per cent over last year’s intake, batch of 2011 will begin their first day at the two year, PGP, IIM-Bangalore’s flagship management programme.
The strenuous management programme will begin with a one-week power packed orientation program to engage, energise and induct the students to the world of management.

To facilitate a seamless transition for the students to the rigours of  PGP programme, sessions on case analysis and communication skills will be organised by the institute.

The batch of 2011 consists of students with high prior work experience, at an average of 29 months, with the highest being 152 months. Over 90 per cent of the incoming batch are from  engineering background, and the remaining strength consists of science, commerce and arts graduates. More than 50 per cent of the engineers joining IIM-B this year are graduates of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). As many as 50 of the admitted students are women which is reportedly higher than any previous batch at IIM-B.
