Mangaluru: As many as seven Assistant Sub Inspectors and 111 cops who had been serving in a police station for more than five years were transferred to units within Dakshina Kannada district by DK Superintendent of Police Dr Arun K.
Seven ASI, 31 head constables and 78 constables serving in different police stations had received transfer orders issued by SP a few days ago, sources said. The transfer of hundreds of cops comes close on the heels of leaders from Muslim community demanding the transfer of cops who had been serving in the same police station since many years. Home Minister G Parameshwara also had directed SP to transfer cops at the earliest.
