MLA Yashpal Suvarna, on Sunday, visited the spot where the severed head and skin of a cow were found dumped by the roadside at Kunjal junction at Aarooru village in Brahmavar taluk late on Saturday night.

He gathered information from BJP workers and local residents in this regard. 

The MLA urged the authorities concerned to take immediate action. Suvarna called upon police officials to take the incident seriously and conduct a thorough investigation. 

Pradeep, a resident of Chantaru in Brahmavar taluk, reported the incident to the authorities after noticing the remains of the animal while returning home from work at around 11.30 pm.  

He suspected that unidentified miscreants might have stolen the cow, killed it and discarded its remains in a public place.

The Brahmavar police have registered a case under sections 4, 5, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, and section 303(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
