Mysuru: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Wednesday made light of K N Rajanna's remark of going to Delhi to 'change KPCC president'.
Speaking to media persons, in Mysuru, on Wednesday, Shivakumar asked, “How can I respond to a statement of a big person? He (Rajanna) is a big man, a senior leader of our party. We are all still party workers. How can I respond to him?”
Metro fare hike
Responding to a question on the hike in fares of the Metro services in Bengaluru, Shivakumar said, "The BJP has a habit of politicising all issues, even those concerning the welfare of the people.
“The fare hike is a central issue. We cannot reduce it,” he said.
Regarding his holy dip in Mahakumbha Mela of Prayagraj and also in Kumbha Mela of Triveni Sangama in T Narsipur, he said he believes in the results of prayers, rather than the efforts.
“Thus I take up religious activities. However, I did not feel any difference in the experience, between Prayagraj and T Narsipur. The water here is clean and sacred. Instead of undergoing a lot of hardships to reach Prayagraj, people can take a holy dip in T Narsipur also,” he said.
Shivakumar said the Triveni Sangama of T Narsipur will be further developed.
"T Narsipur was ruled by the Talakad Ganga kings. We are proud of our heritage, as we studied history. So, we will develop the religious and tourist centre. As CM Siddaramaiah could not attend the event due to his illness, he asked me to visit,” he said.
