Shivamogga: A 23-year-old young doctor from a private medical college reportedly ended life by hanging herself in a hostel room at Purle on Holehonnur Road in the city.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Vishnupriya, a native of Bengaluru.
It is said that her parents are residing in a European country. She had completed the course and was about to leave the campus in a few days.
Sources in the police stated that family reasons could be the reason for the extreme step.
Her classmates had already left the campus and she was alone in the hostel room. Her classmates had made repeated calls to her and when she did not respond.
They alerted the college authorities and the incident came to light when they opened the door of the room.
The mortal remains of the girl were sent to the district general hospital for post-mortem.
The exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained. Shivamogga rural police registered a case.
