The poster of Kodava movie ‘Nadapeda Asha’, based on a novel written by senior writer Nagesh Kalooru, was released by MLC Veena Achaiah at Press Club in Madikeri on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC Veena said that women from all walks of life are coming to the mainstream of society. There is a need to support the movie ‘Nadapeda Asha’.
Director Kottukathira Prakash Cariappa called upon the people to develop the habit of reading books.
Nagesh Kalooru’s work has a social concern. The movie should complete 100 days of screening in the theatre, he said.
He said that he has been promoting the growth of Kodava language by directing at least one Kodava movie in a year.
The shooting of the movie will commence on February 15 at Sri Bhadrakali Temple hall in Kodambooru.
MLC Sunil Subramani, Rangayana director Addanda Cariappa and others will take part.
Kodava Makkada Koota president Bollajira B Ayyappa and Anitha Cariappa are the main cast in the movie.
Producer Eramanda Ponnamma Uthaiah said that the dream of producing a movie has been realised now.
It is a women-centric movie, he added.
Writer Nagesh said that through the protagonist, Kaveri, efforts are made to show the life of women in rural areas.
