Shrub forest gutted in fire inside Kodagu University campus

Shrub forest in Kodagu University campus in Chikka Aluvara caught fire on Tuesday.

Kushalnagar: Shrub forest spread in an area of 20 acres within Kodagu University campus in Chikka Aluvara in Kushalnagar taluk, was reduced to ashes in a fire incident on Tuesday evening.

The fire which broke out at 3 pm, spread fast due to strong winds. The fire and emergency personnel were successful in dousing the fire after three hours of operation.

Another shrub forest on the side of Banavara road near Hebbale village also caught fire, causing inconvenience to motorists on the road.
